You get brown water in the morning, weak pressure at the shower, and pinhole leaks that show up behind walls long before you notice a stain. The salty coastal air out here doesn't help old plumbing either. Once one section fails, the rest is usually close behind.
When you call, a plumber comes out and maps your whole system: what pipe you have, where it runs, and which lines are the trouble spots. We'll show you what we find and walk you through the plan before we touch a wall. Most repipes use copper or PEX run through the same paths, so we open as little drywall as we can and patch cleanly when we're done.
We work through the house room by room so you keep water on as long as possible during the job. When it's time to switch over, we shut off at the main, tie in the new lines, and test every fixture with you before we pack up. Common questions
How long does a whole-home repipe take?
Most homes on the Peninsula take one to three days depending on size, layout, and how many bathrooms you have. We'll give you a realistic timeline after we map the system, and we sequence the work so you're not without water overnight.
Do I need a full repipe or just a repair?
If you've had leaks in more than one spot and the pipe is galvanized steel, a full repipe usually makes more sense than chasing leaks one at a time. If it's a single bad run, we'll say so. We won't push a repipe you don't need.
Will you tear up all my walls?
No. We open only the access points we need, usually small sections near fixtures and pipe runs, and route new lines through existing paths where we can. We patch the drywall we cut before we leave.
Copper or PEX, which is better for a Monterey home?
Both work well here. PEX is flexible, fast to run, and handles our coastal water fine. Copper is rigid and long-proven. We'll recommend based on your home's layout and access, and explain the trade-offs before you decide.
